【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstheclassification,composition,physicalproperties,anddimensionsofmineralfiber(rock,slag,orglass)blanketintendedforuseasthermalinsulationonsurfacesoperatingattemperaturesbetween0x00B0;F(-18x00B0;C)and1200x00B0;F(649x00B0;C).Forspecificapplications,theactualtemperaturelimitsshallbeagreeduponbetweenthesupplierandthepurchaser.1.2Theorientationofthefiberswithintheblanketisprimarilyparalleltotheprincipalsurface(face).Thisspecificationdoesnotcoverfabricatedpipeandtankwrapinsulationwheretheinsulationhasbeencutandfabricatedtoprovideafiberorientationthatisperpendiculartothesurface(face).1.3Forsatisfactoryperformance,properlyinstalledprotectivevaporretardersmustbeusedinbelowambienttemperatureapplicationstoreducemovementofwatervaporthroughoraroundtheinsulationtowardsthecoldersurface.Failuretouseavaporretardercanleadtoinsulationandsystemdamage.RefertoPracticeC921toaidmaterialselection.Althoughvaporretardersarenotpartofthisspecification,propertiesrequiredinSpecificationC1136arepertinenttoapplicationorperformance.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoprovidetheperformancerequirementsofhourly-ratedfiresystems.Consultthemanufacturerfortheappropriatesystem.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcernsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
