【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesstandardpro-ceduresandrequirementsforthedetectionandclassi-ficationoflocalizedoverheatingongroundsurfacesbychemicaletchmethods.Somemethodswhichhavebeenusedinthepastarenolongerrecommended.SpecificationsshouldbechangedtousethemethodsinthisInternationalStandard.Theseetchingmethodsaremoresensitivetochangesinsurfacehardnessthanmosthardnesstestingmethods.ThisInternationalStandardappliestosteelpartssuchasgears,shafts,splinesandbearings,butisnotappli-cabletonitridedpartsandstainlesssteels.NOTE1Thisprocess,althoughattimescalled"nitaletch",shouldnotbeconfusedwithotherprocessesalsoknownas"nitaletch".Thesurfacetemperetchprocedureistobeperformedaftergrindingandbeforeadditionalfinishingoperations.
