【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesstandardizedrequirementsforthepreparation,curing,transportingandtestingoftestcylindersofCLSMunderfieldconditionsbyreplicatingax201C;fieldcurex201D;ofthematerial.Ifthecylindersarefieldcured,asstipulatedherein,theresultingcompressivestrengthtestdatamaybeusedforthefollowingpurposes:Acceptancetestingforspecifiedstrength,Checkingtheadequacyofmixtureproportionsforstrength,Qualitycontrol,DeterminationofwhethertheCLSMiscapableofbeingputinservice,Adequacyofcuring.CLSMistypicallyusedasabackfillmaterialaroundstructures,particularlyinconfinedorlimitedspaces.Compressivestrengthtestingisperformedtoassistinthedesignofthemixandtoserveasaqualitycontroltechniqueduringconstruction.Mixdesignistypicallybasedon28-daystrengthsandconstructioncontroltestsperformed7daysafterplacement.Thecompressivestrength(s)andothertestage(s)willvaryaccordingtotherequirementsfortheendproduct.AdditionalinformationontheuseandhistoryofCLSMiscontainedinAppendixX1.ThistestisoneofaseriesofqualitycontrolteststhatcanbeperformedonCLSMduringconstructiontomonitorcompliancewithspecificationrequirements.TheotherteststhatcanbeusedduringconstructioncontrolofCLSMarePracticeD5971andTestMethodsD6023,D6024,andD6103.Therearemanyothercombinationsofsoil,cement,flyash(cementitiousornot),admixtures,waterqualityorothermaterialsthatcouldbetestedusingthismethod.Themixtureswillvarydependingontheintendeduse,availabilityofmaterials,andplacementrequirements.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/andthelike.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforthepreparation,curing,transportingandtestingofcylindricaltestspecimensofcontrolledlowstrengthmaterial(CLSM)forthedeterminationofcompressivestrength.1.2ThistestmethodcoversCLSMmaterialsthathaveahigherstrengththanthesoilbutlessthan8400kPa(1200psi).Typicalstrengthsformostapplicationsfallbetween350to700kPa(50to100psi).1.3TheCLSMusedtomakethemoldedspecimensshallbesampledafterallon-siteadjustmentshavebeenmadetothemixtureproportions,includingtheadditionofmixwaterandanyadmixtures.1.4Thistestmethodmaybeusedtoprepareandtestcylindricalspecimensofothermixturesofsoilandcementitiousmaterials,suchasself-cementingflyashes.1.5CLSMisalsokno......
