【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesaprocedurefordeterminingthecomplianceofsteelslagsandothermaterialswithspecifications,suchasSpecificationD2940,thatlimitpermissibleexpansionofbaseandsubbaseaggregatescontainingcomponentssubjecttohydration.Thistestmethodcanalsobeusedtoevaluatetheeffectivenessofagingorothertreatmentsforreducingtheexpansivepotentialofsuchmaterials.Testresultshavenotbeencorrelatedwithfieldperformance,andvaluesobtaineddonotnecessarilyindicateexpansionthatmayoccurinserviceconditions.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofpotentialvolumeexpansionofdensegradedcompactedaggregatesthatcontaincomponentssusceptibletohydrationandconsequentvolumeincrease,suchasthefreecalciumandmagnesiumoxidesthatoccurinsomeindustrialby-products.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsinparenthesesareforinformationpurposesonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
